Dr. Lucius A. Whipple

~ Inducted 1991

Dr. Lucius A. Whipple was former President of the Rhode Island College of Education for twelve years, and had a distinguished thirty-seven year career in the field of education, mostly associated with the training of students and teachers. He served for four years in the Rhode Island Department of Education and another four years as Executive Secretary of the Pawtucket and Blackstone Valley Community Chest Organization. He was a prominent civic and community leader, and was awarded five Honorary Degrees.
