Maj. Gen. John W. Kiely

(1925-2005) ~ Inducted 1991

Major General John W. Kiely, a former Adjutant General of Rhode Island and Commanding General of the Rhode Island National Guard. He completed his forty-eight year of military service as a highly decorated World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War veteran whose awards include The Legion of Merit, the Purple Heart, and Bronze Star. He became very active in historical, humanitarian, civic, and fraternal endeavors throughout RI for many years.
