David Gavitt

(1937-2011) ~ Inducted 1979

David Gavitt, 1937-2001, a native of Westerly, was the successful coach of the Providence College basketball team, which brought fame to Rhode Island, for ten years. He was named coach of the basketball team that represented the Unites States in the 1980 Olympic Games.
